Thanks to the generous donations by the Microsoft Management Excellence Community in October 2008, with matching funds from Microsoft, we were able to purchase the supplies needed to revitalize our hoop house. The hoop house extends our growing season, starting some crops earlier than would otherwise be possible, as well as consider growing longer-season crops like melons, peppers, etc. Besides the increased revenue and crop diversity that we now enjoy, the hoop house provides an excellent educational opportunity to complement the other garden education we currently provide to homeless and underserved youth from throughout Seattle.
